Recently met with my oncologist has told me she is not happy to give me any chemotherapy. Can I ask her to change her mind
Heya,
If you don't need it, why would you want it? It's not pleasant and can cause all sorts of long term issues and complications.
Being worried about your health is normal, as is wanting everything possible and necessary to be done to ensure it doesn't come back. But the important word there is necessary.
I would say that your want of chemo is bested by your oncologists years of study then years of experience saying that you don't need it.

hi peridot you dont give any info about your cancer type grade or stage or mention rt i take it youve had a hysterectomy and talking about adjuvant treatment. chemo for early stage womb cancer i.e where its confined to the womb isnt regarded as necessary and as lass says could cause all sorts of health problems. its very potent stuff. treatment is laid down by FIGO and oncologists are bound by their rules. maybe things havent been explained properly to you and a call to the helpline might be worthwhile.
