Well in spite of youngest daughters best efforts I'm at the hospital. I'm on the afternoon list so got a long wait!
Been told I'll be having painkiller injection into my back as well as the anaesthetic. And was then told that once it wears off I will be in pain. Thanks for that Mr anaesthetist!
Hello Nina60 Hmmm the anaesthetist sounds a happy chap. Realistically yes there’s a possibility of some pain as e the painkillers wear off and the key thing (as my nurses kept reminding me!) is to remain on top of it, so don’t hesitate to tell the nursing staff if you have pain and they’ll decide the most appropriate action (whether that be paracetamol and ibuprofen or something a tad stronger!) I was t in any pain at all when I came round from my hysterectomy and when it did occur it came on gradually and the nurses kept well on top of things. Try not to dwell on what he’s said.
Waitings never easy so I hope you have someone around to chat to or a book etc to while away the time. Sending you some encouraging hugs - you’re in my thoughts and prayers
Thinking of u Nina. Good luck!
Hubby was here but sent him away as he was nodding off and just annoying me!!!
Hi Nina60, I had my hysterectomy 10 weeks ago and the first night after I had the best sleep with no pain at all and as Fairycake says any pain you do have comes on gradually and the nursing staff keep it all under control. In my experience it was nowhere near as bad as I had imagined. Lots of hugs xx
Getting bit fed up with this now. Been here since 7.30. Sat thru others having breakfast, midmorning drinks and now lunch. I'm having to tell them I can't have anything. If I'd k own it was goi G to be this long I'd have got someone to visit this morning!
What time r u due to go down to theatre?
Went down soon after last post. Now back on ward. Think I might be allergic to the oxygen tubes in my nose!!!!
Good wishes n love from me too. If you're allergic to the oxygen tubes they could surely use a mask? Now try n get some rest xx
