Feeling stunned. Just had two conversations with my Macmillan Nurse. The first to ask how I was after my surgery. When I said I had received my letter to say Grade 2, Stage 1B she seemed surprised. The second when she called me back ten minutes later to say, sorry, but the letter was wrong. The cancer had spread into the muscle and they want to see me on Thursday after the MDT meeting.
Really struggling to cope with this.
Thank you Claracat. Another two sleepless nights...

Hello I’m very sorry to hear your news. What a dreadful shock for you. Sending you a gentle hug. I hope the meeting on Thursday will be helpful in terms of a treatment plan and that there’ll also be some explanation of how and why the original letter was sent. Please let us know how you get on c
Hi. Sorry to hear you are struggling. We all know waiting for results is very stressful.
I am wondering why you were told your letter was wrong. Grade 2 Stage 1b would mean that the cancer has spread to the muscle but is still early stage with very good outcomes. Here is a link which explains staging:
Thinking of you and hoping you get clear and encouraging information tomorrow.

Hi zigoin,. I have no medical knowledge but your situation sounds a little like mine. After my hysterectomy I was told that my staging was 1b because, for one thing, the cancer had spread into the outer part of the womb (ie the muscle I think). As a result I was recommended to have radiotherapy which I did. That was over a year ago now and I'm fine now. Very best wishes for tomorrow. Xxxx
I am very sorry to hear about this , feeling stunned well I am lost for words really, I hope that when you see your consultant tomorrow that they apologize for the mix up I know these things can occur mis-communication but it's never good when its you.
Sending gentle hugs and finger crossed for tomorrow.

Do try not to worry. The letter may not be wrong. I was diagnosed with a Stage 1B, Grade 2 cancer. 1B means that the tumour has penetrated the muscle of the womb, but is still an early stage, curable endometrial cancer. The MDT probably want to review the depth of penetration and location of the tumour to decide if brachytherapy is necessary. I had 4 sessions of high intensity brachytherapy and was in and out within 15 minutes each time. It's perfectly doable.
I'm sure your consultant will clarify everything and reassure you when you meet. Take care.
