Post Hysterectomy

Hi arty miss,

they told me I could expect some bleeding a week or two after surgery but our motto here is 'if in doubt, get checked out' so I'd definitely ring and mention it to your CNS and / or your gp to make sure it's not an infection or anything which needs to be seen to. My CNS and gp were always brilliant at giving me advice post op, I had an infected wound after my op, so was on the phone a fair few times and in to see them too.

I am due to have half my staples out this morning by the practice nurse I will mention it then

All is fine and for anybody else reading this it didn’t hurt at all to get the staples out.

Hey artymiss,

im glad the staple removal went well and that everything is fine, I've had a few bleeds and they have always been fine but I always feel better getting checked out by a medic, it'd be just like me to ignore something and it be serious (like when I ignored my cancer symtoms for ages!). 

Post op seems to be a bit up and down, but more up than down, I felt like I made stepped improvements at three weeks, six weeks, three months and six months. Keep taking it easy and you will be good as new in no time.

just read your post. I am sorry to hear that you been through a lot. I had radical hysterectomy and omentom removed. I was told that there may be bit of bleeding after surgery. I did not bleed but I noticed that I had to pass the urine a lot. My stomach was very swollen for few week but it got better after few weeks . My surgeon told me that it will get better. I was ok after few weeks. 

Please try to stay positive.
