post total hysterectomy - cyst

Hi Katie,

i had my op nearly two years ago for stage 1a grade 1 cancer. I don't remember anyone mentioning a cyst in a post over the last wee while but I'm sure others will reply if they have. 

I found a hard lump in my stomach, it's above my belly button to the right a bit, it feels like a pebble, my doctor said it's probably a fatty lump or a cyst, I actually went on Tuesday about it, and that I've to go back if it gets bigger (she said above 5cm) or causes me any discomfort or symptoms, but I've an MRI scan coming up soon so hopefully that can put my mind at rest. I don't think I'll be happy until my surgeon tells me it's ok. 

I think it's a good idea telling your cns about it, your gp might be able to give you more information whilst you wait on your gynae team getting back to you.

Thanks for your reply Aria. I did a search through the board but it didn’t raise anything. My research suggests that these cysts, if malignant, are a symptom of ovarian CA. 

I am getting a copy of the scan on monday so I can send it to my CNS, and she said the consultant would be looking at previous scans. As my next follow up isn’t until April 2020 I am hoping they will bring the appt forward as even if out is benign I want to ask for it to be removed (surgically). My body seems to like to grow things that don’t belong (Dermoid cyst, recurring endometriosis and eventually cancer).

Will definitely hang around for a while so will share any developments

That sounds like a good plan, my team have always been amazing at this sort of thing and at bringing appointments forward if they need to, so hopefully your team will do the same.
