Bad biopsy results :(

I am so very,very sorry to read this. My heart goes out to you.and as a Mum with a daughter just a couple of years older than yourself I just want to give you a hug - I can’t begin to imagine how you must feel and what will go through your mind with all the potential implications a cancer diagnosis would bring. I’d just say make sure you ask lots of questions, get as much support as possible for yourself. I really hope the doctors are wrong but whatever the outcome we are here for you xx

Thank you for your kind words fairycake. I don’t quite know how to process it all. I’m really hoping they are wrong but it doesn’t look too good. I want to preserve my fertility so I can have children I want to avoid a hysterectomy at all costs. 

I’ll know more after the MRI and any other tests. I’m hoping it will all be done quickly so I get some answers  xxx

Im really sorry that you have found yourself here, I'm sure the doctors are working away looking at options for you. Try and take one step at a time, your MRI scan should give you a better idea what's happening. 

I was diagnosed at 35 and I've no kids so I sort of know how you are feeling, Ive had a hysterectomy as my treatment. Feel free to ask me anything either here or in a private message.

I’m not surprised you are struggling. That is difficult news to take in.

hopefully there will be lots of options open to you. I’m sure your medical team will explain everything to you

Im seeing my consultant on Tuesday so hopefully he can explain more and answer some questions. I also have an MRI in 3 weeks. Though I feel that’s quite a way away when cancer is on the cards? 

Whatever the outcome I want to avoid a hysterectomy at all costs! Xxx

Hi Meg,

I waited about three weeks for my MRI scan too, then my surgeon had to chase them to get my results through ready for my operation. The people doing my MRI said there were emails flying all around about me, trying to fit me in. I'm waiting on a routine MRI scan just now and the hospital said the routine waiting list in my area is 36weeks! I think it varies by area and depending on how busy things have been.

Its good you are seeing the consultant soon, you will have the time between meeting the consultant and your MRI results to think about what you want to do.

I know, i was laughing when they told me 36 weeks, I told them the idea was I'd have my results before my next six monthly check and I think they will fit me in

36weeks! Blimey Arla, considering what its for.

Although not as bad but still very silly, when I was diagnosed they wanted an MRI to plan the surgery etc, I got told that the nearest appointment was three weeks after my surgery. It was only because I was going to another hospital for a head MRI that they did it for me as it was red flagged and couldn't understand why the other hospital had come up with such a stupid appointment.

But its surprising what you get told those they said that all cancer scans whether pre op or checks had to be done within two to three weeks of the request. It just shows how there is still so much differences between areas and hospitals doesn't it. No wonder so many end up confused with it all
