Morning
i am still waiting for my radical hysterectomy ( grade 3 sarcoma) Two months ago when all this started I had 2 tiny spots of blood and then nothing for several weeks. Last week I started bleeding more and now my stomach is so bloated- am I right in thinking this is normal for the condition? I finally get to see a consultant on Thursday. They are going to be out of the 62 day NICE guidelines for my treatment - so my daughter who works in the NHS has written to the CEO / chair of the trust and several other people to see what they are going to do about prioritising me ( I have had bowel cancer stage 3 7 years ago)
happy bank holiday enjoy the sunshine xx
Hi Mum,
I had two small spots of bleeding in the May and went to the doctor. I had no more bleeding until after the operation in August, so I don't think you need to have a lot for it to be cancer! They caught mine early and I just needed the hysterectomy. As for the bloating, I don't know. I had no other symptoms. I think you are right to make a song and dance about the time waiting.
We live near Portsmouth and both have had excellent care. On the other hand my brother-in-law lived on the Scottish borders and after complaining of back ache was fobbed off and passed from one hospital to another. In my opinion they wasted valuable months before he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, and it was too late for any treatment. A year after his death I still feel quite cross about this. I was diagnosed at the same time that he first complained about back ache, yet I was treated and recovered before they even found the root of his problem.
All the best xxxxx
Hi Stef,
I was stage 1a, grade 1 and was pre menopause, i was pretty much bleeding continually sometimes it was non stop and I had huge clots. I had cramping pains and back ache and sometimes the pain travelled down my legs. I don't remember being bloated but I did struggle to eat sometimes and I was sick a few different times.
It wont hurt to give your gp or the hospital a call and tell them about your new symptoms, they might be able to help them whilst you wait, I think you are right to keep at them to get your treatment plan.
Lots of love
