i finished cameo therapy about 6 weeks ago . I am having a lot of pain in my bones especially lower legs and joints.
Could it be after effect of cameo therapy?
Any advice
Hi
I am sorry to hear you are in pain. I had long bone (arms and legs) pain during chemo with every cycle and my docs told me it was the chemo wiping out blood cells in the bone marrow.
As to whether yours is the same, I can’t really say. If it doesn’t resolve soon then perhaps you should call your doctor or clinical nurse specialist to ask?
I hope you feel better soon
Thank you. I have good and bad days. I am going for blood tests today and will speak to Nurse. I had scan about 5 weeks ago and am seeing the oncologist on 7th. It has been a long wait. I will speak to her about the pain as well
thank you
take care
lots of love

Hi Rahman,
I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling with pain. experienced similar pain in knees, ankles, wrists etc during chemo. I finished chemo 2 yrs ago but still occasionally get some arthritis type pains in my hands/wrists.Ive mentioned it to my team but not really had any answers. I can’t orove it’s linjed to chemo but I do know I didn’t have it before. It’s always best to get checked though, so I agree with Daloni, mention it to your nurse and your oncologist. It’s still very early days post chemo so no wonder you’re having good and bad days. It takes time to heal physically and emotionally from having such aggressive treatment. I hope you get some answers - please let us know how things go. Gentle hugs x
Hi Rahman,
This is exactly what happened to me after chemo. I found it got better and I just took ibuprofen on the days where it was very noticeable.
I also had a bit of oncology physio after chemo to help get me moving properly and back I shape and that's been brilliant.
I'm 1 year on from chemo now and like Fairycake I have arthritis type pains in my fingers that I've never had before. There don't seem to be any answers from the nurse about that and whether it's chemo related or not. It's mild so on days where it bothers me I take a mild pain killer.
Amanda
Dear Amanda and Fairycake
thank you
i saw my oncologist. She said that chemotherapy
does make you tired and can give you bone pain. I have been taking pain killers. That has helped.
I also been told that my scan was clear and they asked me to come back in 3 months.
They were not able to trace any disease.
Let us see how it goes
lots of love

Hello Rahman, Glad to heat your scan was clear - that’ definitely merits a little celebratory happy dance round my kitchen . I hope the pains and tiredness soon ease and that you can enjoy the next hospital free three months x
