Hi every one as you know I'm lou and 17

As I had my pelvic exentration 2 days ago today I had the signs of menopause

I know I'm going through it is there any one here who can give some information ?

I found this group the best place to ask this

Good night and thanks

  • Hi Lou,

For flushes I find an electric fan really good, I also have a gel pillow which is good and I wear light layers so that I can take something off when I'm hot. for the emotional side of things I found counselling really useful, you could ask your medical team if there is any services in your area. For my memory I just keep notes of what I need to do in my phone and try and be organised.

What symptoms are you having? If you let us know the others might have advice too.

    lots of love

    Hi

    Thanks for your helpful advises

Im just having flushes by now and getting really emotional

Nursing team here supporting me really much and i have found them really helpful

  • It's still really early days, be kind to yourself, the emotions side of things takes a bit of time but talking really helps even if you don't fancy formal counselling. Hot flushes in hospital will be a bit trickier, our hospitals have light blankets so we can layer up or just have a sheet when it's hot. Keep your nursing team informed about your flushes, they might have something to help.
