i was diagnosed stage 4 uterine cancer. It was a shock to my system. I have had surgery and have been through cameo therapy. I have had a scan and am waiting to see the consultant in the beginning of May.

I feel perfectly ok but very nervous

i have been having lot hot flushes which makes me very uncomfortable. It tends to last about a minute .

I been reading the discussion s and it has helped me a lot.

Thank you

  • Hello Rahman

Welcome to the group no one wants to join but are glad they did. It’s lovely to know that you’ve been reading past posts and finding them helpful and even better to know that you’ve found your voice to join in with the discussions.,

It sounds like you’ve been through a very difficult few months. Chemotherapy can be very gruelling and coming on top of diagnosis and surgery it can leave you feeling battered both physically and mentally so it’s encouraging to hear that you currently feel well. Waiting for scannresults is very nerve wracking - we sometimes refer to “scanxiety” because of the worry and anxiety these things can bring. I hope that when you get your results in May  you’ll get some good news.

Have you spoken to your clinical nurse specialist about the hot flushes? She might be able to help with some coping strategies. Wearing loose clothes made of natural fibres can help, as can swapping some of your hot drinks for cold ones through the day.

We’re a very friendly, active group. There’s often someone around to chat to and there are always plenty of group hugs to share too.  Please let us know how your scan results go and do feel free to post with any questions or comments. We’re looking forward to getting to know you x
