I have kept quiet for a time now.
It took along time for my post op to settle down - op in July - last bleed in October. Oh boy even at 75 I miss being able to go to the gym, but this made things worse.
Any how on 8 November I saw consultant again and I have more VIN - I am waiting the biopsy results and it is taking what seems like forever ( although only just over 3 weeks).
Anyhow, I think all we can all do is take a deep breath and cope with whatever this condition sends us. It is a god job we have this forum as I find there is little support or information else where. Thank you everyone for being there.
Judith
Dear all
It's me again - after 5 weeks got the biopsy result of the new patch - vin2. As it is quite along way back and also affects the neck of the vagina, I have been referred to another clinic to see if I am suitable for Aldara. This is 6 January.
I have rather sensitive skin , eg I have never been able to wear makeup other than lipstick and have found plasters a nightmare - earlier this year I fell (while running for a bus) and ended up with micropore on a cut for 24 hours - the resulting reaction took steroids to clear.
so you can see I will have many questions for the consultation.
Thanks for listening
Hope you all mange to relax and enjoy the festive days
Judith. Penloc
Judith, I sure hope your apt went well last week. Did they start you on Aldara?
Lisa
Hi Lisa
Thanks for the post. i am now applying the aldara - once a week for 3 weeks and twice a week for 6 weeks. Two applications so far. I must admit the mechanics of the application was hilarious the first time but I have worked out the system of lights and mirrors now, the present area is at the neck of the vagina and quite hard to get at, especially at 75 and not as supple as I used to be.
If this does not work I will be referred to London for another opinion.
Good news is I am back at the gym after a long break, The first wound reopened every time I went previously and i missed the exercise so much'
Thanks again
Judith
Hi Judith, how are you getting on? I am an older lady and have been diagnosed with Vin 1 & 3. I am not sure if I should go for the surgical removal or the the ointment. There seems for and against?
Regards,
Liz
