Hey Guys

My name is Aman. Hope you guys are well...

This is my first post, so please forgive me, if this has been asked before.

I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer 4 years ago and since have been prescribed TRT, using Testogel.

2 years ago, I was using 2 sachets, daily,  totalling 10g of Testosterone. This gave my blood reading of T at approx 30 (normal range should be between 12-30, which I guess is a good reading as it’s high but within the safe range.

However, I stopped using TestoGel for a year and started back up 2 months ago, with the same dosage of 2 sachets. However, my last blood test reading shows my T levels at 60, which is way too high and dangerous. I then reduced  this to 1.5 sachets and this gave me a reading of 50.

So ive now gone to using 1 sachet (waiting to have another blood test at this dosage).

My question is, why would the same dosage of TestoGel result in 2 very different readings of T in my blood?

Hope someone can help me...

Kind Regards

Aman

Hi Aman, what was you reading before you started. Mine is 11 and doc is saying it’s only just below normal levels, but I feel knackered and have brain fog a lot.

    Hi Gonzo.

Thank you for replying back to me. Appreciate it.

Before TRT I was reading about 12-15. However, I also felt weak and tired so had to go on TRT.

Hi, a level under 12 and having some symptoms I was told means you technically have hypogonadism (low testosterone). The problem with the use of the 12-30 'normal' range is it does not take age into account. So a man in his 70's or 80's might have a level of 12 which is fine but hardly appropriate for someone half that age. I had a level of 12 but had symptoms (lack of libido, tiredness, etc) and got referred to an endocrinologist. He prescribed testogel 2 pumps daily in the hope of getting me to more appropriate T levels in the he range high teens to low twenties.

    Aman

when are you having your bloods taken for test.

Here is the correct way, no if's or but's, this is how your blood should be taken.

using a Monday and Tuesday just for example.

Apply your testogel on the Monday 8am as normal

Tuesday, do not apply gel and have your blood taken 8am - 9am before applying gel, this is how it should be taken BEFORE applying gel.
