Hi everyone, what are people's stories when it comes to healing after Orchiectomy?
Any aches, pains, tightness, swelling, bruising etc?
How long does it all last?
Thanks Chip
Hi Chip
I can recall the days following my orchidectomy, I was very sore and was getting through pain relief medication like there was no tomorrow! but around the 5th day things started to ease up and the recovery after that was fairly rapid, after a week or so I was going for short walks and up and down the stairs slowly.
Just take things slow first off.
Thanks K_Dale
I had a simple orchi, and I can feel the cord all hard and swollen in my lower groin, this seems to be what's hurting, and the aching is going down my leg and in my foot. I'm on day 10.
Hi Chip,
I had my surgery in early May this year. I remember that I was quite sore for a week before things gradually got better. I returned to working from home after about 4 days. Sitting in front of a computer with no commute was fine. I was doing light exercise (Joe Wicks workout designed for the elderly - lol, after about 2/3 weeks). I felt normal after about 4/5 weeks in total. I wore Y-Fronts for a couple of months before switching back to my normal boxers. Urologist recommended them for support.
For context I’m mid-thirties, within my BMI and was doing regular light exercise going into the surgery. Plus my two young kids kept me busy!
Definitely follow Dale’s advice and start slow. I did no heavy lifting for at least a month - Kids included.
