Hi
I was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer last year. I'm on Zoladex implants.
In March I saw the oncologist and he put me onto a 6 cycle course of chemo of which I had four cycles before falling ill on Easter Sunday. The last two were cancelled on his advice. I then saw him in April before starting a course of external beam radiotherapy. Since completing that 19 July I've seen no-one. I did have an appointment for the start of October, but that was cancelled.
How frequently should I be seeing an oncologist? I had a PSA test in October which my GP told me the results of, how frequently should I have them?
Thanks,
Martin

I thought over seven months and still no appointment was getting too long. I've had a few possible side effects that I'd like to discuss as well as getting some idea about possible future treatment. I just hope I haven't fallen of a list somewhere.
for 2 or three years you should see the onc about every 6 months and then maybe once a year or he may sign you off back into the care of your GP at this stage so long as everything is OK.
