Been back and forth to doctors with a lower left groin pain, bloating and back pain. Doctor finally suspected cysts that may have ruptured Thinking But didn’t seemed concerned at all.

He booked me in for an ultrasound and transvaginal scan, not till the 18th March.

Today I woke up looking 5 months pregnant, bloated and really uncomfortable however the left side is more prominent. I’ve got pain in my groin, like a dull, period pain ache and a dull pain in my leg which was more noticeable when I walked.

Ive not done much at all today but have felt very nauseous and tired. Am I best to just hold out till 18th and keep a track of the symptoms for the specialist?

I took a picture of my stomach today and sent it to a few friends who were a bit shocked. I think I’ve had these symptoms for maybe 3 months now however today I really don’t feel good and my left side feels bad.

Really appreciate any advice.

Thank you

Hi,  I went to my lady GP with bloating only.  She arranged a blood test that same day, which virtually confirmed my diagnosis.  A ultrasound and CT scan confirmed a few days later.  I would definately go back and ask for a blood test.  Take care.

Hi Jo2020, I know waiting can be a worrying time. However, I also think you should ask your GP surgery if you can have a blood test for the CA125 biomarker. If the CA125 result is abnormally high they should then put you into the Two Week Wait urgent referral system to get you an urgent CT scan and an appointment with a gynae consultant. You might possibly get seen a bit quicker this way and get a more extensive CT scan done.

If possible, it might be worth asking if you can see a different GP at your surgery? You might also be able to ask your GP surgery over the phone to have the CA125 test, and then you could just have the practice nurse take your blood sample.

I hope this helps and fingers crossed it turns out to be nothing serious.

  • Hi Jojo,

I would definitely update your doctor with your worsening symptoms and press for an urgent CA125 blood test and scan.  I had a next day blood test back in mid December but had to wait a month for an ultrasound as Christmas and New Year intervened.  It sounds as though you are in real discomfort - I do hope that your GP can arrange something asap.

    Best wishes, Nell
