I had stage 4 in September 18 had hysterectomy and oophorectomy, omentum removal, liver resection, I was clear after the operation and the had 6 rounds carbo, taxol, which finished last February. bevacizumab for a year after.
I finished all treatment November last year and so pleased I am still all clear. My problem is I ache every day!!! My feet and ankles are the worst. I am supposed to be moving on but this is really getting me down. Is anybody else suffering? Will I get back to normal?
Hi,
I noticed that you joined the group but nobody has replied to you so I thought I would say hello. I have only just been diagnosed stage 3 and get my chemo plan tomorrow , so I cannot help you, but maybe one of the Macmillan champions or the nurses could advise? I had breast cancer 6 years ago, and when I was having my radio therapy, I found a nice soak in the bath helped with the aches. Have you tried those supports that you can put in your shoes, or elastic stockings that may help support your ankles? I hope your aches ease soon.
Take care and keep us posted
Love
Janet
Hiya. Thanks for the reply, sorry you’re having to go through it. I’ve been to a podiatrist and he said where I have been in pain I have started to walk abnormal, so he has just made me orthotics, hope it will do the trick
Hello rubster, I had 6 chemo, 4 alongside bevacizumab, and nearly three weeks ago had the first of 14 more bevacizumab , on its own, I also am aching, my back and knees plus thigh muscles are the worst for me. It’s a known side effect, though in my experience the wonderful nursing staff don’t seem to know much about side effects. My gp has arranged for me to have various blood tests,I have also felt very cold since I started my treatment.
Unfortunately I can’t say if or when you’ll get back to normal!
Best wishes
