Hello, all

I have been in the breast cancer group from 2013, having been ned for 6 years.  I now find myself with the possibility I have ovarian cancer, I have 2 masses on my ovaries and a thickening in my womb after a scan for tummy ache.  Also just for good measure I have some sort of cysts on my liver.  I am due to see the gyno dept at the hospital on monday 6th, and am terrified what to expect.  Can they treat it? what happens at that first appointment.    I am  in a state of shock since Friday and I would be grateful if there was someone out there who could help me.

Thank you so much

Janet

  • Hey,

This can be a frightening time. It's the not knowing that got to me the most.

I'd already had a pelvic ultrasound and a CA125 blood test before I was referred to the specialist.

At the appointment, he talked through my ultrasound and blood test results and scheduled more tests - a CT scan, and an MRI.

I was given a number to contact the amazing nursing team that could help me with any questions.

He also did a physical exam.

He couldn't give me a diagnosis until I had the other tests, which were done just before this Christmas.

Whatever it is, it's been found and you're being fast-tracked for diagnosis and treatment by experts.

I'm sorry you have to go through this,

    D
