Hi all. I have just had my first chemo round following being diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I am constantly awake at night and during the day having to go multiple times to the loo for a wee. I have had a urine test and it’s come back clear. I am on antibiotics anyway but is making no difference does anyone have any solutions or had the same problem?
Hi Susanw1,
Yes, I had the same problem at first. Are you on carbotaxol? I put it down to the gallons of water that I was drinking to help flush the chemo out of my system and avoid damage to my kidneys. I have now had 4 rounds of chemo and happily things seem to have gradually improved over the last couple of months. I’m not sure why, maybe my body has adjusted to the extra hydration. I now don’t have to get up in the night to wee, I just lie there awake because I can’t go out anywhere to burn any energy off or wear my brain out!
Best wishes, Nell xxx
Hi Nell thanks for the reply it’s reassuring that it went away. Can you do some exercise videos to burn the energy I have had the same problem with lying awake but found a walk and videos helpful.
Yes, I’ve been walking each day and trying to exercise. I think it must be mental stimulation I’m lacking!
