I am 4 weeks post op following ovarian cytoreductive surgery . Still getting pain and discomfort, and bowels still not working properly, despite taking movicol. I had to be readmitted twice with ileus and bowel obstruction. Any suggestions
It took weeks for my bowels to start to settle after full hysterectomy and removal or lining of peritoneum and Omentum - alternated between constipation (longest time I went without a bowel movement was 6 days) . A year on and they are well settled but not quite as before - just changed. For me it was trial end error using Movicol and Immodium and making a note of what I had been eating. Not sure that my reply is at all helpful but wanted to share my experience with you. All the best, x
