When I was diagnosed with melanoma 3 years ago, I was told to ring my SCNS if I found anything of concern in between my 3 monthly check-ups and not to wait until my appointment was due.
As you quite rightly say the NHS is under immense pressure but I would think that the same 'rules' apply now, so give your SCNS a ring tomorrow and see what she says.
