Morning all, I think this topic has been touched on before somewhere but couldn’t find anything. I have just started my immunotherapy treatment with double dose Ipilimumab and Nivolumab and am now suffering with the dreaded rash with itching.

rash seems to be confined to rear body and arms, and around neck. Doctor was happy Calamine lotion would help the itching and prescribed an antihistamine tablet too. Doesn’t seem to be doing much to be honest.

anyone had any other creams that helped them? Not all creams works for all but thought I would ask you lovely people who are all going thru some form of treatment.

I won’t go thru my full details but read my profile if it’s of interest.

thanks in advance for all your help.

  • Hi M

I recently went through the same treatment and developed a rash and itching on my chest.  I was given chlorphenamine maleate tablets and zerobase emollient cream.  The cream was applied in the morning and at night and was very effective in soothing the itch.

    Best wishes

  • Cheers for info, I will look into those when I speak to my doctor again.

  • I was given chlorphenamine maleate which didn't help much. I'm currently on hydrocortisone cream 1% w/w. It helps a bit but I still itch a lot -- but only at times!

  • Hi Barbican,

cheers for reply, I popped into Dermatology this morning and managed to blag a prescription of Mometasone Furoate Cream plus they’ve upped my dosage of Fexofenadine tablets. Was well worth the trip in. Been told to give that a try for a few weeks to see if it will settle down.
    onwards we strive Thumbsup

  • I was prescribed Aqua Soothe 1% Menthol along with a topical corticosteroid cream .  It is making a difference !

  • Hi,

I was prescribed Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablets by my GP which didn’t really work until I popped into my Dermatology department at NGH and spoke with my Skin Nurse. They got a Doctor to see me and prescribed a Mometasone Furoate cream and more Fexofenadine tablets. Trebled my dose and within 3 days the itching has gone, the rash isn’t as red and angry as it was.
amazingly I wouldn’t know it was there if I didn’t see it still on my skin. So glad it’s worked for me.

thanks all for the contribution of your remedies.
