Hi all,
As the title suggests, I’m awaiting a mole excision… and then will be waiting on results. I am terrified if I’m honest. I don’t know how I’m supposed to just, keep waiting.
I am also really distrusting of my initial mole mapping which had sent me away as ‘all good’ (it was done with dermatoscope). I since trusted my gut and pushed for a second opinion to check another mole again, but since this is now on list for excising, I am now looking at all of my moles and thinking: is this one dangerous too? What about this one? Was this one also missed? I’m very moley , so it’s not as easy as just asking them to check my 4 moles, I have a lot (always have).
I am so scared. I am early 30s. But I know this means so little.
does anyone have any advice? Or stories of hope? I’ve fallen so far down I’ve been researching stage 4 treatments, survival rates, everything.
thanks all.
Hi
sorry to hear you are so anxious usually they get you in within 2-3 weeks if on Cancer pathway this does not mean you have Cancer I am not going to lie the waiting is the worst part of the whole process it is the wait in between each procedure but that’s just the process unfortunately
if it makes you less anxious have another mole mapping in the private sector do some research and find one with good reviews
Honestly don’t go on the internet that will just make you think more than you should I did exactly that and in my mind I was going to die before Christmas how silly I am still here and my mole was a Desmoplastic melanoma 2.3 all was removed in the initial procedure then had a wider excision and a lymph node removed but all came back no sign of cancer now and I remember what the surgeon told me 85% of people are cured from initial removal and other procedures done to find the other 15% that need further treatment he was right in my case I am now clear with only a 3-5% chance of return and there was me taking in all the negatives from the internet so hope my story helps you to see positive there are many on here with positive stories
my experience with the hospital in my area has been amazing my mole was on my chin and they even provided me with Camoflage makeup session to cover the scar and in turn my doctor gave me it on prescription so there are so many positives with skin cancer now and the treatments are improving all the time
keep your chin up sending you a virtual hug
