Aching and new lump a year on!

Hi Catwall  - I was diagnosed 2b and the SLNB found some melanoma in a lymph node in my groin, so was re-staged 3c. I had regular scans after this and around 10 months post SLNB there was some enlargement in another lymph node in my groin. After further scans and biopsy it was confirmed as melanoma, and it continued to grow so I had a full groin dissection. From my experience I would highly recommend chasing results for the scan as soon as possible, better safe than sorry and should they find anything at least you're on it straight away. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about but glad the dermatologist is following it up.

Thank you so much for your reply. That's really helpful. My dermatologist said because my original lymph nodes biopsy was negative it is unlikely and she doesn't think it feels like recurrence, but she has put the ultrasound through as urgent. 

If you don't mind me asking. Did you have a lump in your lymph nodes and if you could feel it what did it feel like.

Mine was definitely related to the previous deposit found, so not having any in your SLNB is definitely a positive.

When they first noticed the chages I couldn't feel anything, but by the time it was removed I could feel a little lump there and there was definitely some discomfort. I also had scar tissue from the SLNB which didn't help feeling in the area.

One other thing I meant to say was to ask the radiographer doing the scan if they can see anything. Some will tell you, some won't, but worth asking!
