Wondering if anyone knows when you can get back in the swimming pool after a WLE and SLNB?

  • Hi , I don’t know the answer to this one, I wondered if it was worth putting a question in the ask a nurse sections here, or talk to your nurses. It would be great to hear the reply.

    best wishes

I think a lot will depend on the location of the wound.  I had WLE on my back with the SLNB under my arm and was originally told not to exercise for six weeks.  When I went to get the stitches out 10 days later I asked the nurse when I could start exercising again.  she said as long as I wasn’t doing anything that didn’t involve repetitive arm movements I.e lifting weights, boxercise etc  I should be ok to start doing light exercise that wouldn’t put any pressure on the wound or do anything that could make it open back up. But I am no expert and this is only my experience.  I would check in with your nurse and take their guidance they will know best.
