Hi all,
I recently confirmed that after 4 months of remission my Hodgkins Lymphoma has returned. Doc's plan is GDP chemo to get back into remission and then HDCT and Auto Stem Cell transplant followed by 13 cycles of Brent maintenance chemo.
Looking for any success stories and tips for people that have gone through a similar experience. I am worried because relapse within a year is a serious negative prognostic factor for success of the auto transplant.
Thanks,
TG
Hi tgills57, sorry to hear about your HL relapse.
You may want to join our Stem cell transplant group as you will connect with others who have walked this path and are doing well.
I am 5 years post my second donor SCT for NHL and doing great.
Understanding stem cell transplants using your own cells (autologous) - PDF here.
I will keep an eye open for you in the SCT group. I have also bumped an ongoing thread in the SCT group about success stories.
Hi TG
and so very sorry to hear about an early relapse, that’s gutting!
Mike is right, the SCT group is a good group (it was I who asked for it to be set up as our daughter didn’t gain remission for over 7 years as it’s a more complex area of blood cancers which need more specialist help and knowledge than standard HL treatment) and there are a few folk who monitor that group who have been through lots of different treatments or are carers like myself, having seen lots of treatments through.
sending you a big sympathetic hug xxx
