its been a while since i posted last but it seems i have been struggling with all the after effects from chemo/radiotherapy i still have high levels of fatigue tired all the time i still have Reflux issues i am still awaiting outpatient Appointment for nephropathy caused by the chemo it seems every week there is something different i have been the GP multiple times with issues low mood low bloods there verdict PTSD and depression from having cancer in the first instance.
I've been wondering do other people still feel feel the same after they have completed the treatments and try to get there lives back to normal your thoughts please.
I was exactly the same and a total game-changer was getting some talking therapy with a counsellor who specialised in cancer patients/survivors. I found her through Cherry Lodge Cancer Care - Information and Support Centre in Barnet but you may well have a charity more local to you who can help with this.
I completely underestimated the physical toll that the emotional stress takes. You have been through a hell of an ordeal but you will feel better, you have to be patient and kind to yourself.

Hi again Tonyb9127 ....yes indeed, the post treatment recovery can take much longer then you would first immagin.
I have had a completely different journey with regards to the 2 types of Lymphoma and the main 2 years treatments I had....... My Consultant told me that going through the Lymphoma Treatment process is like doing a boxing match and a marathon every day over the months of treatments and this was done without any training.
Think doing the London Marathon without any training and you had to finish it as your life depended on it……. this is the journey you have been on so it most likely will take much longer than you would ever think to get back to some normality.
As the others have said....... 'talking' to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and many centres run Hematology Support Groups.
You may want to also check out Lymphoma Action. Lymphoma Action is the main UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of good reliable information, videos..... basically all things Lymphoma....... pre, during and post treatment.
They run various Support Platforms… I highly recommend these groups as this will widen your support base and there is nothing better than ‘talking’ with others who have walked or are walking the same journey..... especialy their monthly on-line Remission Group.
They also run the very good Lymphoma Focused Live your Life Course that is a peer-led self-management course.
The LA helpline is open every week day from 10 till 3 on 0808 808 5555. This is a safe place to talk things through and get support.
Hello. If it’s any help, daughter just realised today that it’s 21 years since she got that diagnosis, it took over 7 years for her to get to remission and then a donor bone marrow transplant has kept her there.
Shes doing ok thank goodness! There is life after this cancer….

I've really appreciated the comments on here ive just completed months of talking therapy which was the best thing to happen to me it was noted I was suffering from medical trauma after having the cancer ive also had results back that I didn't have any neurological issues but I still have the feeling of having a stroke down my left constant pins and needles numbness they think it's more spinal which the chemo could of aggravated it.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
