Hello,

After having treatment again today - I have the returning feeling of a lump in my throat. Does anyone else on ABVD get this?? I have asked the nurses but no one see s to know what I’m talking about!

  • Hi again, I would say that with lymphoma treatments in general you will find that the lymphatic system (nods) will wax and wane. I also found the main lump in my neck that we were treating did strange things until the treatment actually made a significant difference.

Hi! I just finished 12/12 ABVD and have had the lump in throat feeling off and on since before diagnosis.  My interim PET scan showed complete response so I’m hopeful it’s related to anxiety or acid reflux per my doctor.  On my Facebook forum I’ve seen others with this problem too... It’s unnerving though!

    Hi!

    Thank you replying again!

I actually meant a lump inside my throat, like when I swallow?

I had clear scan results!!  Raised hands tone1 so the lymphoma has actually gone supposedly! Pray tone1 Chemo is due to finish at the end of October!

    Hi!
Have you?? That’s nice to hear (sorry to say that) but like I said the nurses didn’t have a clue what I was going on about Face palm tone1‍♀️I was going to ask my oncologist when I next speak to him.
It makes sense to be anxiety as I am very anxious these days, all the time!
Yes it’s not painful like other symptoms but just feels strange and uncomfortable!
    Thanks for replying x

    Hello!!!

I find I get this a lot too - especially at times of anxiety.

Nobody seems to know what I meant by it either but the medical term is Globus Sensation. It may sound crazy but a relaxing bath with lavender and lying on your side really helped me shift it!

I also found it can be triggered by acid reflux. Omeprazole was most beneficial when I felt it coming on.
