Hi,to all the fighters, hope you are doing well,I'm from China, diagnosed with HL 4B last May,then treated with 6 cycles of ABVD(12 times),I had my negetive PET scan after second cycle,(still there were nodes with the max SUV bellow 3.0)and it's pretty much the same after I finished all the 6 cycles,(nodes exist with SUV bellow 2.0)and my doc suggeted me 2 more cycles of GVD+pd-1,and after that the nodes still exist but the SUV were gone, according to my last PET-CT,taken last month.
Several days ago I began feeling the itching all over, that's the kind of same feeling I got before the diagnosis. And my radiotherapy won't begin until another month later(too many patients in a Chinese cancer center, you have to queue up if you have no connections with doctors)Anyone with the same experiences? Thanks!
Hi Benjamin,
sorry you’ve had to cope with so much treatment. And still facing more.... I suspect if your HL began with the itch then you’re very aware of it; but sometimes more treatment can mimic this too. I would maybe query this with your specialist nurse (I’m assuming even in China you still have allocated nurses?) as if they think it’s significant they can maybe get you seen in clinic earlier rather than later.
sometimes HL can be very obstinate (our daughters was) but with the right interventions (and there are many more than in the years she was treated) it can still be sent into remission.

Hi moomy,
Thanks for your advice,it comforts me a lot,and my itching gets lighter these days,I hope it's just from the treatments.Anyway I will go get my rountinely scan next month.
And my respect to your daughter, she has the courage to fight againt her misfortunes that long, she's a warrior. It's now Chinese year, and I want to send her my best Chinese wishes:
永远健康
stay healthy forever.
Thank you for your best Chinese wishes, Benjamin! That means a lot!
so glad the itching is easing; sometimes chemo upsets the skin levels of regenerating cells and that may be why itching reoccurs during and after treatment. Chemo is very ‘drying’ too, so a gentle moisturiser may help.
