Well spoke to the doctor today from the hospice, going to increase both my morphine meds,as in so much pain.

Lost a stone and 5 pounds in weight as can't eat properly the last month.

  • Hi glad you've at least spoken to someone and hope the  meds’ increase helps with the pain.

    Take care Hazel x

  • Lets hope the new dosage controls the pain better, are you on liquid food supplements i.e Ensure, Fortisips etc as these will give you the calories you need, maybe speak to someone when you are up the hospital next week .Take care.

So sorry to hear about your pain :-( Been there

At some point, probably for over a month, I was taking 10+ ml of morphine every couple of hours! Plus paracetamol, the one that dissolves in water, tablets were too painful. For food I'd have around 6 bottles of fortisip a day, they kept me alive! I know it's hard, but if you can, get fortisip shakes, perhaps not neutral flavoured ones, any other flavour, stick a straw in, close your eyes and just down it / push it down as fast as you can, i'd do 2 bottles 3 times a day, it was really hard and painful to swallow but I knew I just had no choice. Overall I've lost 20kg! was working out lots before this nighmare, so lost all my muscles :-( just had bones left, honestly fortisip saved my life.

    Best wishes

  • Well done for contacting the doctor.  I do hope the increase in medication makes a difference for you.
