Hello all, I have not contributed for a few months as I have been “getting on with life” having completed surgery and radiotherapy about 9 months ago. It’s now a year since my scans and biopsy and life is good - I am still here! Sean Carroll says “life is a process not a substance” and my life process is almost back to normal - which is what we all crave. I’ve been travelling lots and fitted in my 6 week follow up appointments to suit me not the consultant! My only side effect now is my sense of taste which means I don’t enjoy sweet things. Keeping my weight down as a result. Only beer (IPA) is palatable alcohol. Seems to me that keeping busy with usual life after retirement and a partner who pushes me onwards is the key to recovery. Will forever be grateful to her for that pressure. It was not an easy experience but I’m past the treatment phase and enjoying life in recovery. KEEP BUSY!
Hello Man66, what a great positive post , I don't think there is a negative point that might change in time with the sweet taste . Funny I find real ale suits me better than domestic lagers etc .Great that you have a lovely partner who is keeping you in check and helping you through the bad times so well done . All I can say is, keep up the good work as you are heading in the right direction . All the best to you and your partner . Cheers and best wishes .
Chris
