I am a little confused I had salivary gland cancer patroid removed total neck desection but it had spread to spine and groin metastatic I was given biculmide tablets to slow it down I was told biculmide was for prostate cancer wandering why I was given these instead of chemo or radiotherapy

  • So sorry Dave that your cancer has spread. The questions you pose have to be answered by your medical team I’m afraid. I am sure they have weighed up all sides and have made the right decision. Please make sure they tell you so that you understand. I know that shock can make you  deaf when you’re told news like this and you don’t hear everything. Maybe you could get hold of your clinical nurse specialist and get them to find out and explain to you.
Some parotid gland cancers have androgen ( male hormone) receptors and biculmide is used to slow growth. That’s probably why but please find out from your team.
