So the outcome of today’s MDT meeting was very positive. The consultant from the skull based team’s gut feeling is the abnormality in the ethmoid sinus is from treatment, so will have another CT and MRI in 3 months time to let the swelling calm down as scans still showed swelling. Have been told if the ethmoid sinus comes back with it showing cancer then they will operate and remove it. I never had this option when I was diagnosed earlier this year. They did mention they can’t believe how well it had responded to treatment. My consultant has referred me to ophthalmology for an eye test to keep an eye on my sight as one of the side effects from radiotherapy was I could lose my sight, she mentioned this could be a delayed effect from treatment, but she is encouraged by the fact I haven’t had any problems with my sight.
Still experiencing watery eyes but it is still quite swollen where the radiotherapy has hit. Next step for me now is to get back to work but on reduced hours as consultant has advised to not be in front of a screen for long periods of time.
HinTanya That’s good to hear positive news ,whatever you do don’t rush back too quickly ,remember yiur body’s had a pounding baby steps.

I know, will be having a discussion with HR as I will only be able to do a few hours per day, plus I will be hoping to work from home for the time being as still being vulnerable and the only way for me to get to the office will be public transport.
I have to say my employer has been fab throughout the whole thing and will be there to support me on my return. But in the meantime I will continue with my recovery and wellbeing. Also went to the Maggie’s centre today and will be taking part in some of their virtual sessions. Still a long way to go which we all know will take time xx
Hi Tanya, great to hear the positive news, its not unusual to have abnormalities show up after treatment or surgery so its great to have options if needed. Also great that your eyesight has not suffered as we all worry about possible side effects, just take it easy in returning back to work as I'm sure your work will continue supporting you the way they have been doing. All the best in your recovery, take care.

Great news.
These scans can be a real frightener. I had a hot spot that was nothing at 16 weeks. Boy did that set me back, but they were straight on top of it in days with a biopsy.
