Hi all last post a week ago I was going to have surgery again but got devastating news on Wednesday it's now in both lungs surgery no longer a option they have given me 2 options immunotherapy and chemo or 2 immunotherapy keytruda and a trial one alongside If I decide on the 2 together it's a big commitment and a lot of hospital visits but with both choices the side effects seem quite serious do I really want to put myself through it when I could spend my time making memories with my family if I'm only unwell for a couple of days in between with quality of life then I do it this seems so hard to make the right choice I really would appreciate any personal advice I have spoken to McMillan .
Hi Bradlou.Tough decisions hope Macmillan gave you some advise ,spend the weekend with your family going through the options just remember at the end if the day the decision is yours, don’t feel pressurised into making the wrong one for you .

Hi Bradlou20
What a horrible place to be-I.m so sorry. Weirdly, when I have visited my clinical hypnotherapist guy over the last few years, I will have been in a state of turmoil and indecision. He would just say to me "if I could wave a magic wand right now, what would you like the outcome to be"? Apart from obviously for you, hoping you weren't here in the first place, it did always focus my attention and made it easier to come to a decision, sometimes one that surprised me. All fingers and toes crossed for you.

Remember you post Bradlou, i think it boils down to the impact of the side effects and the percentage of success, i know they have to do these trails on people and maybe they think you stand a chance, its the unknown that is the problem. I know immunotherapy is proving to be giving fairly good results with chemo but the other one being a trial one makes you more cautious. As Hazel said speak with your family and close friends thinking very much about your quality of life at the same time. Im a very positive person, an optimist but it would be hard to choose on this matter. Sorry to find yourself in this position, i wish you all the very best in your decision, take care and all the best to your family.

H Bradlou. I can't imagine the turmoil your mind must be in.....or perhaps I can. Lots of us put ourselves ridiculously in this position in our minds while you are actually in it....if that makes sense. Immunotherapy has delivered some startling results. I think if you are PD-1 positive your chances are better and not everybody gets all the side effects. As others have said you have to consider your quality of life. You have been through so much you must just be so so tired of it all and I can see why spending time with your family is paramount. Please don't feel pressured and I wish you the very best hoping the doctors can give you some quality time. However, you did ask for opinions. I think they know pretty quickly if a cancer is going to respond to immunotherapy. Me? I'm a s scientist and I'd be going for the trial
