Had all my biopsies done again on Friday lymph nodes and saliva gland.

Found out I've got to have the op to take cancer away from my mouth, tongue, neck too restructive surgery too ,am high risk due to my chronic lung conditon.

Be in ICU a week and be in Marsden for weeks, everything marked urgent now,as only way to get rid of it as radiotherapy didn't work.

I have had bad headaches since Fri.

I am anxious, worried, petrified about the op,so many emotions we are going through.we have no other family help so when I come home hubby have to take care of me and be off work.

Then there is the cat that has never left my side,be alone while I am in hospital during the day she has never left my side.

  • Sounds like things are moving quickly for you now Mandy.   At least you'll be in safe hands with a team of experts who will do everything they can for you.  Have you been prescribed any medication to help with the pain while you're waiting for your op?

Once you're out of hospital it may be that your care will require a District Nurse or some other form of support to make regular checks but that is a way off yet.

Take care and all the best.

  • Sounds a really tough place you've found yourself in.

Thinking of you and wishing you all the best.  It will be tough, but we're here to be shouted at when things are not so good and offer advice when you need it.

    Good luck.

Good luck Mandy. We got a kitten in lockdown and I thought the scratch I got gave me the neck lump - turned out it was kind of a pointer to go and get checked. Said kitten never leaves my side either x

  • So glad  things are moving fast , like everyone says we are all here for you as and when xx

  • It sounds as if everything is being done quickly to give you the best possible outcome Mandy. You're in excellent hands from what I hear at the Marsden but it's only natural to be worried. Won't be long until you're on the other side of it.

Cats are very resilient and I'm sure she'll cope without you, some say that leaving something with your smell on for them comforts them. maybe a few new cat toys may help to occupy her too.

Please keep us updated, will be thinking of you xx
