Hi all I have had radiotherapy chemotherapy and a neck dissection .why can't I get rid of this cancer now on Nivolumab
I just hope it works and gives me more time good thing for me the cancer hasn't spread
They have never found the primary cancer on me I did wonder if the Nivolumab doesn't work could I try the cyberknife
I am 60 year old I am quite and active fit .I will not let the cancer beat me
Hi sorry you find yourself in such a horrid situation.
Cyberknife is just a form of highly targeted radiotherapy. Nivolumab is an immune therapy which aims to get the body to recognise cancer cells as foreign by blocking the self defence that the cancer evolves.
You would be best tackling your consultant who could tell you whether you can have radiotherapy to the same area on more than one occasion. But I hope the immunotherapy works for you.

Good evening Clzgw04, i know how you are feeling about getting rid of the cancer sometimes it takes a bit longer to get the results we are looking for, I don't know what area of the head and neck your cancer is as each area is treated differently. I had radio, chemo after my first operation yet still had to have two more operations to get to the bottom of it. You have the right approach to this as your last sentence says it all, this is how i approached it remaining positive throughout. I don't know a lot about Nivolumab or cyberknife so I'm pleased Beesuit has explained it all.
I'm now about 12 years cancer-free, it was a bumpy journey but we as a team got there, so stay determined and positive, wishing you all the very best in your next stage with positive results, take care .

Hi Beesuit
Hi mummy 13
It sounds like you are going through a similar thing as me .I must say it's the first time I have heard of chemo ultrasound is it your choice which one you go for .if it is I wish you all the best .My cancer lump is on the outside . please remain positive I am going to beat this
Hi Chris 2012
It sounded like you have been though it. .I have just been reading your profile. its hard to explain how I feel but I would not wish this journey on any one
I think it would be just nice for me to see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel I do think the Nivolumab is working but it's hard for me to tell .
Because the lump is on the outside of my neck I feel it has got smaller but because I am constantly looking at it and touching it it's difficult to tell.my partner seems to think it has got smaller
