Hi, whats the best thing to drink during radiotherapy treatment. I have a dry mouth and no taste, however what ever I drink tastes horrible even water.
Thanks

Hi Juddles
I'm not sure I can make any useful suggestions as I couldn't find anything that tasted nice either. The only thing I would say is obviously ensure you are taking in enough fluids (do you have a PEG?), keep your mouth scrupulously clean, and keep trying different things. Some people have found carbonated water useful. I did eventually discover one flavour of cordial that suited my tastebuds (not that it tasted as it should but it was acceptable) and there was a lot of trial and error involved!
Good luck.
Thank you, when I drink milk shakes my mouth gets even drier,
I have tried everything, I suppose its just part of the course
Thanks

I found the same! It was like the milk just soaked up any hint of moisture in my mouth - very weird.
I found sparkling mineral water felt good as did Diet Pepsi diluted 50/50

Hi Juddles, I drank soda water and coca-cola with water, as Beesuit said 50/50. I still drink both of these 12 years later as I find coke to sugary. Most fruit juices were also a no-no for me and still are because of the acids. Hope you manage to find something suitable, all the best.

Hi to start with I could tolerate soda water , supermarkets own brands as Schweppes too strong. Then it was bottled water I still can’t drink tap water. I had a period where lukewarm peppermint tea went down well likewise lukewarm green tea, also Diet Coke diluted with soda water which I still drink now . You aren’t in your own we are all the same but different also.
I have a blog details below might give you some tips
good luck

Thank you for all the support and suggestions, I'm still looking to find some thing that helps, it's just trail and error and unfortunately with the constraints currently imposed it not as easy to go out to try diffrent things,
But we must stay safe.
