Hi all. Newbie here.

A little background, I have been poorly for the best part of 9 years but as all test kept coming back normal, I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome.

Around 2015 i started getting lots of irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, back ache, fatigue and generally feeling crappy! I was sent for ultrasounds but nothing was found. Symptoms progressed around 2018 with more irregular periods, i would bleed on contact, had more ultrasounds, had smear, had coil removed, still all tests were normal.

I went into hospital in May 2020 for abdominal pains and they found ovarian cysts sized 11cm and 9cm. I had an emergency total hysterectomy and removal of ovaries and tubes in June 2020 as the  ovarian cysts had grown and had wrapped around my ovaries.

My histology results showed adenocarcinoma of the cervix that had spread to both ovaries. My first consultation with the Oncologist confirmed that it has spread to surrounding tissues. He didn't say what stage it was at but sounds like 2b to me. I am currently awaiting MRI and CT scans so they can see exactly what they are dealing with, but I will be having chemotherapy, radiotherapy and brachytherapy.

I am very interested to hear from anyone else who has gone through similar to me. How did your treatment go? How are you now? I've been told I will be having cisplatin? (hope I spelt that right)

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    Hello Penny,

I am sorry to hear of your news. I had a similar experience to you and was finally diagnosed with stage 2b cervical adenocarcinoma. I had radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy. I’m not going to lie the treatment is tough but it’s doable. For me side effects are minimal and 7 years on I’m living a full and happy life. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have either on here or privately.

Much love to you, Amanda x
