HRT Post Treatment

Hi, i had chemo-radiation and brachy completed December 2023 and almost immediately had hot flushes and sweats, during the night but also late afternoons (my face would suddenly be dripping with sweat). I have been on HRT since February 2024 and have only had a positive experience with it, no sweats or hot flushes since . It had been my oncologist that had recommended HRT, when i spoke to my GP they too were a little cautious, and we agreed my GP would email my oncologist to get her assessment on which type of HRT i should be put on (i.e which one was safest) and following her guidance my GP has prescribed. There are other benefits to HRT for anyone who has had brachy given the very high levels of radiation the pelvis has endured as it helps support bones, given i was only 45 at the time good bone heath feels important especially if it want to remain active and strong as i get older. There are risks with everything, but for me the positives massively out way the risks on this decision. :)
