Hi my Nan is going through chemotherapy and is told her platelets need to be 100 to have this done.
she is now 2 weeks behind on her treatment as they have been about 91-92. I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue and if so what you have done to help bring them up to have a consistent run of treatment.
thank you in advance for any replies.
Low platelets during chemotherapy are unfortunately quite common, and treatment delays at levels around 90–95 are not unusual. In most cases, platelet recovery depends on time, dose adjustments, or medical interventions like treatment breaks or transfusions diet or supplements alone rarely make a meaningful difference. It’s best to discuss options such as dose modification or supportive therapies directly with her oncology team, as they can tailor the safest approach for her situation.
