Hello all,
My first post on here and just wanting to find others who are dealing with skin mets and ask how they are managing them. I have other mets elsewhere, but my skin mets seem to be the most resistant to treatment.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.
My cancer wasn't the same as yours so I don't have any experience to draw on to help you but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered. This may be because it slipped off the first page before someone else with skin mets had seen it. By replying to you it will bump your post back to the top of the page where it stands a chance of being seen.
I typed 'skin' into the search facility in this group and found several posts from a few months ago where people were talking about skin mets. You could try this while you're waiting for replies.
I'm also tagging this groups Community Champions GRANNY59 and into this reply as they may have some experience they can share with you.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi
Not sure I can give much advice I’m struggling with mine at the moment.when I was first diagnosed with them (secondary’s)I was put on Capecitabine and that seemed to shrink them almost 2 years on I have weeping sores that seem to be resisting all treatments.Have had 3 different kinds of dressings and 2 courses of antibiotics but nothing is improving them I fear the Capecitabine has stopped working.
what are you using to treat yours?
Hi Geordiegirl,
Thanks for your response. I am on my second clinical trial but the skin mets still seem to be resistant to treatment, spreading and weeping more. The first trial involved gem/carbo and atezolizumab, but it was ineffective so I was withdrawn. I'm now on olaparib and AZD6738, another trial, and the results seem to be the same. I'm reaching the point where I have had enough of treatment, and think I'll opt for symptomatic treatment only from the end of this cycle. I haven't tried dressings yet, but have flamanil to try to curb the weeping areas.
