Just about to complete my first cycle of Palbociclib at 100mg not too bad no really adverse effects. Moving to full strength for 2nd cycle anyone having similar experience let me know what to expect x

Hi I've been on 125mg for just over a year. My main side affect has been low neutrophils and white blood cell count from the drug. There is some hair thinning (not noticeable fingers crossed). Otherwise some fatigue on my week off the cycle. Gives me quality of life. I was worried initially but it has been ok.

  • Hi I am just about to start my treatment this coming week  of palbociclib also taking letrozole,it was good to read your positive post,I have had primary bc in 2009 and had mastectomy, chemo, and rads. So was quite hard to be faced with a regional recurrence which due to where the tumour is ,high by collar bone is unfortunately inoperable so hoping I get good results with this treatment to shrink or keep it stable .also  good to read that your hair is still with you .just hope I can tolerate it like yourself .x

Hi Chris54 glad this has helped. Hoping all goes well for you. Im living a relatively normal life (whatever that might be) at the moment, walking, exercising, working, so thankful for this medication.

  • Hi  Jo Marie will keep you updated x

  • Hi Chris54. Good to hear from you. I am in the same situation. Breast cancer came back after 20 years and spread to my lymph nodes and lungs. I am starting the same treatment as you this week. Not too sure what to expect.

  • Hi Veronique M ,it must have been quite a shock after 20years i was cancer free for 11years

  • Hi Chris54, thank you for sharing this. It is encouraging. We'll be following a similar  same path. Let's keep in touch. Best

  • Hi Veronique M,

It was good to hear from you ,have you started the medication yet?

Im sure you will be fine ,but you do worry when everything is so new, what with the diagnosis it is alot to take on board.

The normal world we had has changed so much, in such a short time but im sure we will be well looked after ,and thank good ness we have so many treatment options.

    take care ,

    Chris x

Hi Chris54 and Veronica M, hope you're both ok. I was really scared about starting the treatment initially but I'm now 17months down the line. I do get a sore throat and hoarseness sometimes but all manageable so far. We are lucky to have this treatment option. I also follow people on instagram who are on this treatment and thriving. Sending love hope all goes ok x

  • Hi, its good to hear others experiences - thats what helped me on diagnosis in October. I just started cycle 3 and have had no painkillers today which I have been on since my surgery in September this year. This drug seems to be getting used to my body ( and vice versa) My fatigue is so much less and that makes me feel better with in myself ( I had breast cancer 18 years ago and now have it in my lung and some ribs / sacrum. ) Heres hoping everyone has minimal side effects xx
