Hello
I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?
Hi, the chemo rollercoaster starts next Weds, 12 weeks of PC, then 8 weeks of ec, then surgery if all being well x
Does everyone have a Liver MRI? Not been mentioned to me at all
I only got one after my lymph nodes were found to be positive. My trust usually only do one if four lymph nodes are macro but I had two macro and two micromets in lymphs and they did one as a precaution- I think because I was in such a state as scans had picked up nothing in lymph nodes so was a total shock after the sentinel node biopsy.
Hi Gander,
No, not everyone will have a liver MRI. Most people who are having chemotherapy will have one of a CT or a PET or an MRI scan, to check for any spread outside the breast. If that initial scan shows up suspicious areas, a more detailed or specific scan will be done to check them out before treatment. I had a CT which showed up some suspicious bone areas, followed by a whole-body MRI which diagnosed them as harmless bone islands. So please don’t worry if you’re not having a certain scan (unless you have a specific concern), it’s almost certainly good news and means you are low risk or there’s nothing they want to check.
No
Im having one because something showed up on my CT

Not long then , the hard days waiting for results and a plan are all behind you now . Xxx
Not had PET, MRI or any other scans and start Chemo on 15th March
They must not think you need one
I have a huge tumour / mass and a lot of lymph node involvement , hence the CT in the first place

I had a CT scan as the tumour was so large , they weren’t going to do one to start with until the MRI showed how big it was . If they haven’t sent you for one they must think that all will be well xxx
Thank you. Tumour was 19mm, clear margins and no lymph node involvement. Chemo/RT, Herceptin and Anastrazole due to being E8 and HER2 Positive. Belt and braces. Jo x
