Hi x
I had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed on New Year’s Eve and the scar is healing well. Up until my first chemotherapy cycle (two weeks ago) I was having a drain every week to help reduce fluid which was a relief as I had a lot and doing my daily physio exercises.
Now I’m having chemotherapy, I can’t have the weekly drain (which I understand because of the risk of infection) so the fluid has built up again. I also have a rash (which the oncology nurse has checked) and has suggested I don’t put anything on my skin. My skin is so tight and my arm movement is really restricted and painful - it feels like I’ve gone backwards in terms of getting any real movement above my elbow. I’m continuing to do the physio.
Has anyone had a similar experience or any top tips to try to reduce fluid and get some movement back?
thanks xxx
Carrie
