Hello! I’m wondering if anyone can help at all?
In August I found a lump in my left breast. GP referred me to consultant. He thought it was calcification and sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound which picked up another lump in right breast. Immediately had a core needle biopsy. A week later a Breast Care Nurse called to say the results were all ok but when they had reviewed my case they decided that the left breast needed a biopsy, too.
Had left breast biopsy ten days ago. It was a different type of biopsy and they took 22 samples. I was advised not to go away on holiday this week as I would be without my family. I got a call today, telling me I have an appointment with the consultant on Friday. The lady who called was in admin and said she couldn’t give me any results.
So my question is, in these Covid times, do they still ask people in to give good results? My first lot of results was given by phone so I am not sure why I would have to go in if this lot is fine. I am going a bit bonkers with the worry of it all - this has lasted over a month now and I am really feeling the strain. How likely is it that I will get bad results on Friday?
So they biopsied calcification? It's normal to take multiple samples for calcification- I had 12. I had this for two areas of left breast and I was told I'd be seen personally whatever results as calcification is monitored for changes . I had one benign area and one DCIS. Click on my name and you can read my story. I also had follow up appointment for a biopsy on good breast 3 years later . I rang and was told biopsy clear but they wanted to redo scans to make sure they were happy.
Hello, I had a biopsy two weeks ago and was given an appointment to see the consultant for two weeks ahead for the results. I was told that they don't give out any results on the phone, whether positive or negative a face to face appointment is made. Good luck with yours. I am scheduled for a lumpectomy in a couple of weeks.
