Hi there,
This is a question for anyone who lost all or most of their lashes and brows: how long before you noticed regrowth?
Finished chemo one month ago. Hair on head regrowth started a month before finishing Taxol, growing quickly on the sides and still fluffy on crown, average growth 1cm every 3 weeks - just amazing to see how wonderful and resilient our bodies are.
Seem to be losing the last of brows/lashes now, but this could now just be the natural cycle of hair. I have heard the last to fall is the last to grow.
Thanks for taking the time to read :-)
Hi there and congrats on finishing chemo! My hair grew back during Paclitaxel, but after I stopped a list a bit of hair a few weeks later and my eyebrows and lashes became thinner. About 4-5 weeks after stopping they started to grow, and within weeks were looking like a shorter, thinner version of 'normal' (if I can remember what that is!) It's frustrating losing hair after stopping chemo, but it grows back pretty fast. I've chrmo curls at the ends, and 8 months after it's straightening up again, so don't be surprised if it's different. My toes are hairy on the joints at the minute, but I've almost no leg or underarm hair! I used castor oli on my eyebrows and eye lashes, and it seemed to help me.
Over just read your bio and you sound amazingly fit! Good luck with the surgery too. x
It really didn’t take long for my eyelashes to come back. I did use Rivalash....and had great lashes quite quickly! I remember my lashes and brows came back quicker than my hair but it didn’t take long before I had enough hair to go back to work! I looked very trendy with my cropped hair! I am now 1 year post end of treatment and I have lashes, brows and a mop of curls!! I might not look like the old me......but no one notices!x
Thanks so much for reply! I haven't lost any head hair but am looking at the crown suspiciously wondering whether that will go.
No lashes on bottom and literally a handful on tops of both. No brow on one side and about 4 hairs hanging in on one side.
The head hair regrowth was unexpected and great, but i will admit to getting a bit impatient and/or nervous with lashes. I may revert to using castor oil again :-)
Rivalash? I wonder does it work on no lashes. I will definitely give it a bash, thank you!
Randomly, the hair on sides is straight and blonde as it was before loss but the crown is 'bitty' and a bit wiry (and white, eek). As my hair is so fair it still looks like I have no hair. Patience patience
Would you happen to have a link for Rivalash? It's not coming up on my search
Thanks in advance:-)
Hello,
My hair on my head is slowly growing back - painfully slow and it is still white! Had hoped for another colour..... My husband says it is thickening up. I've finished my chemo now just the last week of side effects.
Eyelashes have all gone so interested in the Rivalash and or castor oil (to take or rub? ) I have no hair elsewhere either except the odd hair on my leg, so not enjoying this part of the journey. I only ever wore mascara as make up. I'm encouraged about the 4-5 weeks!
Happy regrowth everyone! xxx
Think it might be https://www.revitalash.com so will have a good research through. Thanks Galligirl.
Castor oil is known to help hair regrowth. Dab and massage into brows, i believe with lashes you dab it on lash line... I'm not going to do this yet as i don't want castor oil in my poor eyes! I've been using the ordinary hair serum but my hair would've grown very quickly anyway pre chemo desecration.
I'm 4 weeks post chemo and my brows / lashes haven't finished falling out yet, BUT i do believe that it is the case that whatever fell first also grows back first.
Good luck to you too with regrowth. It's great to see these signs of life come back and to see my poor body coming back to life and growth, albeit slower than I'd like!
External use only! Lol.
I finished chemo on 31 January, my hair is growing VERY slowly, I have few eyelashes and my eyebrows have not grown at all. I guess everyone is different!!
