Grade 3 idc

So I've asked for advice before on things but today I feel like I'm being hit by a baseball bat saying "grade 3 invasive", "grade 3 invasive".

I'm 41, ive just had my lumpectomy with 2 nodes removed and waiting for pathology results.

I've never been so scared. I'm so scared and due to being on lockdown can't even see anyone. I feel like my grade has given me a poor prognosis, it's faster growing and can spread easily so that's all that is on my mind.

Is there anyone out there that can offer me support, advice?

It doesn't help that treatment is being stopped but even so I just need someone anyone to talk to me on here. Cry

Hello. Right now it's a whirl wind I know. . I am 14 days post surgery . . .grade 3 invasive and also had 2 nodes removed. . . . They are clear. . . So keeping everything crossed for you. It's a very scary time as it is without the virus so even more so now!

Never a good time for cancer any way but we sure seem to have it at a bad time.

Have they given you any idea on what treat ment you may need?

I am 36 and my details are on my profile if it helps to look at them.

Take care. . And keep talking.

    Rhian. X

  • Hi thank you for your reply, it means a lot.

Yes we definitely are very similar on our journey. I've just had my lumpectomy the day before you have received your results from your op. So now I'm waiting.

Im glad and so happy to hear your nodes were clear. I think that's what is weighing on my mind as I don't think they will book me in for any further operation. Let's see and hope.

I'll be in touch and you too. We can support each other on this rocky road which hopefully will smooth out. Hugs xx

Our minds are cruel but amazing things and I know from my first apt at the breast clinic when they said . . . It didn't look good (meaning they thought it was cancer) I have swung from one thought to another.

It's even harder when things change. . I had no idea that the results from surgery might vary from results from the biopsy. .( went from 16mm grade 2 to 23mm grade 3. . ) that was a shock in itself but to then find out the effect the virus is having on possible treatments. . . .I am trying to remain positive that at least it is now out! I know some are having their surgery delayed.

I have spoken to Macmillan on the chat several times and spent about 2 hours across 2 phone calls today to one of their nurses. . . I really reccomend that. I was so nervous ( I'm such a baby some times!) When I first called today but they were so helpful and super kind and knowledgable.!

Don't be afraid to get in touch with them if you think it might help at all.

Do you have a date set yet for your results?

  • Hi,

Thanks again. I am planning on calling the nurses tomorrow. Ahhh you have the right to feel like a baby during this time, I know I sure do.

I should get my results in a week but there maybe a delay to this virus.

You are right, I'm definitely thankful that the op is done for now. How did your margins look? I'm just concerned I may need a 2nd op depending. But I'm going to try and cross that bridge when I get there.

Also, this whole predict test thing has got to me too. Wow didn't realized they can put a number on us. I'll be talking to the nurses about that tomorrow too.

Thanks again. I'm watching a documentary on Netflix called "heal". Really amazing and inspiring.

Wishing you a relaxing evening. Two hearts

  • HI, just to give you some reassurance re your predicament, I have the same diagnosis as you and had mx mid Feb, all 3 nodes removed were cancerous so unfortunately needed a full node clearance.
Following news that needed the node clearance the boyfriend insisted on a full body CT scan to check it hadn't spread elsewhere in the meantime and all was fine - not sure if this is an option for you?
Anyway still recovering from node clearance but all is fine.

Also not sure if you're hormone positive but if you are those tablets will really help keeping things in check.

    Good luck

    Sam
