Having completed my treatment 18 months ago from breast cancer, I am suffering from joint pain and neuropathy.
At present, I am taking Tamoxifen which I am taking for 5 years.
Has anyone had similar side effects from the medication? I am not sure how long these side effects last, and if they sometimes diminish over time.
Hi
Sorry to see you haven't had a reply as yet.
Just about everyone here taking Tamoxifen or the Letrozole/Anastrozole if post meno has these joint issues. The main cause is the lack of oestrogen however there are meds you can get that helps ease this.
If your Tamoxifen is one of the 'generic' brands as sometimes something as simple as changing the brand can help. These meds are supposed to be the same but the fillers and coatings used can disagree with some people. There are at least six different makes.
J was taking Letrozole and was given Meloxicam a non steroidal anti-inflammatory and Amitriptyline which helped but quite few don't like taking extra meds to get by :-/
Could the neuropathy be baggage leftover from chemo ? or is this also down to the Tamoxifen ?
Take care, G n' J
