Hi,

How quickly do I need to stop my HRT after diagnosis? Or can I slowly come off it? Just worried about suddenly stopping but not been given any advice as to the urgency. and getting a doctors appointment isn't a short term process here!. Has anyone here needed to stop after diagnosis?

Thanks

  • Hi Sam

I'm afraid I can't answer your question but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the page where it'll hopefully be seen by someone with the right experience.

If you don't get any replies then give your BCNS a call and she should be able to tell you.

  • I was told by my surgeon to stop HRT straight away. As lots of breast cancers are oestrogen or progesterone + which means the cells feed off the hormones. After biopsies I was told my cancer was oestrogen positive. Now on tamoxifen after surgery to prevent further uptake of the hormone into the cells x I hope this helps.
