Pico dressing help

Hi , I don’t have any knowledge of this dressing but was intrigued to see what it was so googled it. Sounds amazing! 

As far as I could see the device stops working after 7days or when the batteries die although the one online had a flashing light to indicate low battery! Has it been 7days by any chance? If so maybe the dressing needs changing? 

Sorry if that’s not much use to you, especially on a weekend! Have you got a number you can call in an emergency? I’m not saying this is an emergency! But if you were told the light should keep flashing then they must of told you what to do IF it stopped flashing?! 

Is there a reset button maybe??

Sorry this is a bit late -Check that the dressing is completely sealed around the wound. If the dressing is lifting up and not completely sealed it won't create a vacuum and work properly. The dressing should feel hard if working ok. Are any of the other warning lights lit. That will show you what is wrong with it eg battery low,  dressing is leaking etc. You should hear the pump working if the seal is leaking on the dressing. Try adding more tape around the edge of the dressing to make sure it is sealed. Once the vacuum has been resumed you won't hear the pump but just see the flashing light. But it could be that you are at the end of the 7 days and it's stopped working automatically.  Hope that helps 

I had one of these dressings and it the seal round the dressing that occasionally needed more adding.  It won't hurt if that doesn't fix it but phone dressing clinic on Monday if not sorted.   Hope all ok

Thank you Ann I did contact the ward I was in after the operation and they asked me to come in so they could have a look at it 

I only lasts for 7 days so the program had run out I explained that the consultant had said it had to stay on until the drainage tube was taken out ( 10 days) 

i have an appointment with him tomorrow so he can sort it out 

I am having a lot of pain and swelling ( feel like Dolly Parton on one side) but hopefully it’ll be sorted tomorrow

Your right the program had run out ( only lasts for 7 days) what confused me was my consultant wanted it to keep going until I see him on Thursday ( which would be 13 days) I managed to get hold of the ward I was on after the operation they asked me to come in so they could have s look they said they didn’t want to change the dressing because it looked fine so has booked me in to see my consultant tomorrow ( Monday) to see what he wants to do 

at the moment I feel like Dolly Parton on one side it’s very tender and swollen but I’m still losing a lot of fluid into the bottle even though the pump on the dressing isn’t working 

hopefully it’ll be sorted tomorrow
