Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any strange feelings in chest post lumpectomy or surgery. I started having them in the breast radiating across to the unaffected breast a few months ago. They aren't painful so wasn't worried, difficult to explain similar to shiver but body doesn't shiver its an internal feeling and I have put it down to some nerve damage from op. However the past few weeks I now get these feelings in other parts of the body which is a little concerning. Just wondering what they are and why I am now getting in other parts of the body?   I have also had severe pain from lymphoedema and infection but this is a different feeling altogether.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

 Thanks

Hi. It’s been 8 years since my reconstruction and I still have weird pains. Nothing major but the nerves will take a while to settle down. My recommendation is speak to a physio about some exercises to improve the muscle, blood flow and of course mention it to your doctor.

I hope it settles down soon.

  • Hi Liz,

Many thanks for the reply and the advice. I will mention it next week when I see the consultant. I have started a few exercises from the physio maybe I need a few more. Sorry to hear that you still get weird pains after so many years.

    Many thanks

I’m lucky to have a great sports university near me. I have used acupuncture, and massage too.

My surgery was very radical so hopefully yours will settle down soon.

The weird pains just remind me I’m lucky, so I don’t mind.

    Take care Liz x

  • Hi Liz,

Yes I know what you mean the weird feelings haven't bothered me until now and I felt the same way. Just can't make out why they are now in other parts of the body so will take your advice and ask consultant next week. I am having massage MLD for the lymphodema at the hospital and privately and lucky as they are both lovely ladies and helping me control infections and swelling caused by the breast lymphoedema.

    Take care and thanks
